Who Should Attend GTI? Print E-mail

 

Adults Who:

 ImageLike and are willing to listen to and learn from teenagers;
 ImageAre willing to enthusiastically join activities with teens while setting appropriate limits with them;
 ImageAre likely to earn the trust of students, parents, peers and administrators;
 ImageAre willing to offer the credit for accomplishments to teens;
 ImageWork easily and cooperatively with students and other adult volunteers;
 ImageAgree to work with GTI and the students during the conference and throughout the next year; 
 ImageActively participate in the GTI adult advisor training, the entire conference and follow up activities; 
 ImageLook for the good in all teens; 
 ImageAre healthy role models for teens;
 ImageAre alcohol, tobacco and other drug free while at GTI. 

 

 

Youth Who:

 ImageAre proud to be alcohol, tobacco and other drug free; 
 ImageAre motivated enough to give service to their school or community and do the hard work it takes to make a difference in the use and abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs; 
 ImageHave displayed or have the potential to develop leadership skills but may have been passed over for leadership roles in to GTthe past; 
 ImageHave good listening skills and will respect others by not talking when they are;
 ImageWill reach out to people while still taking good care of themselves, and not putting others before their own best interested; 
 ImageAre likely to earn the trust of peers, parents and administrators; 
 ImageRepresent the diversity (race, ethnicity, religion, gender, peer group, etc) of their school or community.
